Holy shit Bucharest looked like the epitome of a Eastern European communist shithole. Not a single color besides gray.
Anyway that "revolution" is one of the more mysterious ones. Lots and lots about it is still unknown, just who were the snipers and so on, and what was the role of the KGB and Securitate itself in all that.

I see a lot of Red flags in that crowd outside of Ceausescu's palace. Definately strange, although Ceausescu was a bastard who starved his own people for a decade to pay off debt his government accumulated. I wouldn't be surprised if they were Socialists who toppled a state capitalist dictator.

I mean in the video, it was discussing Ceausescu's last speech, which turned out to be an anti-government rally that raided his palace. People in the rally had a lot of Red flags.
By the way, the KGB had a role in toppling him? Interesting, but not surprising.

Is it true Ceaucescu and his Wife sang the International when they were executed?
I met a Romanian Lady recently who was singing Ceaucescus praises. Not due to him being great per say more due to her preferring life back then to the urrent Romanian situation.
