Action movies were not much produced in the East broadly speaking meaning SU, Eastern Bloc as well as non - European socialist countries.
Of course there were many action scenes particulary in war movies.
Basically western action movies were seen as having no artistic or other value – instead they were glamourizing senseless brutality.
Yet I am inclined to believe, that the obvious popularity of such western production also among eastern viewers propelled socialist movie production institutions to make such films.
Two examples are the Soviet 1981 Ответный ход (Counter move or Counter stroke) and the North Korean 명령 027호 (Order No. 027) – both can be seen on you tube.
Other examples of eastern action movies and your thoughts comrades.

Pirates of the XX Century though I haven't seen it because I don't like action movies. I tried to watch Order № 027 but it was boring and too much talking, not enough fighting and smashing stuff.

You know action movies were all the rage for me when I was a kid and into my teens but not anymore. Still it is sometimes fun to watch. As for Order no 27 I was a little surprised by your opinion. For me there was plenty of action including many fighting scenes but again it is a matter of gusto. When it comes to Soviet action movies of course before watching Ответный ход from 1981 one should first see В зоне особого внимания (In the zone / area of special / particular attention) from the year 1977. Ответный ход is a sequel to В зоне особого внимания.
