What is your favorite movement/event that bought triumph over the capitalists and the establishment of a socialist state? My favorite was the Chinese Civil War. What made me like it was that it lasted for decades and had many bloody battles such as the Long March. And because it didn't all happen in one area.

I prefer the Cuban for numerous reasons. Mostly because it is still going.
My fave is and will always be the October Revolution. In my opinion it was not only the most successful but the most interesting

Well, my favourite are:
The October Revolution, the one that started it all. The Cuban Revolution, for creating one of the most progressive democracies in the world, being an inspiration to revolutionary Latin Americans, and lifting thousands out of poverty. And the Korean Revolution, for it's development of the Juche Idea.

I grew up admiring it. It's also one of my favorite movies. The Chinese Revolution sounds huge and complex, a lot of the testimonies are very compelling. This would be my second. I haven't read much on the Cuban Revolution, which is a shameful ommission on my part.
Vietnam is a great one to dwell on if your looking for the complete and total defeat of 2 Imperialist powers (and China for that matter).

I like the Russian one because that's where a lot of marxist thought was developed, like Leninism. There was a lot of ideological struggle within it. *

The Third Servile War was awesome for a while, until it all turned to shit.
In the end the good will go to heaven up above,
the bad will perish in the depths of hell. How can hell be any worse when life alone is such a curse? Frag Armageddon, this is hell. Quote: there has never been one. Workers took ploitical power in the october revolution, but socialism was not established “The question of the relationships between the party, which represents the proletariat as it should be, and the trade unions, which represent the proletariat as it is, is the most fundamental question of revolutionary Marxism.”
—Trotsky Quote: I almost forgot about Vietnam, awesome movement there. ![]() لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا الله مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ الله - يا عمال العالم اتحدوا
My favourite is the October Revolution, because peasents and workers won against Tsar regime, and this revolution brought a lot of knowledge, Marxism was put on practice, and it shows that people can win by struggling together.
My second one happened in Vietnam because General Võ Nguyên Giáp and Hồ Chà Minh liberated Vietnam which was France colony, but Vietnamese people army won against them on May 7, 1954 at Diên Biên Phu. And against American imperialist army in Saigon on, 30 April, 1915. And the Chinese Revolution, Chinese People Army leaded by Mao Zedong triumphed over the capitalists, it's the continuation of Marxism-Leninism.

Wait, how is that any more spam than the rest of the movements mentioned? wtf?

The other posts are less spammy than yours and they were somehow on-topic. Topless swedish girls are cool but I don't think that such a 'movement' contributed a lot to anti-capitalism.

Nah it's just, it is an active feminist movement.
Naturally it would be my favorite one. Although I wonder if they want to be taken seriously of if they are simply trying to draw light on other feminist issues. EDIT: Also most people described events in history, not actual organized movements. A revolution is far more than the sum of any one organization. It would have to be, or else it's simply a coup d'etat. ![]() Fitzy wrote:
The October Revolution is easily the best as it started it all. China served as a great forward base for a great deal of Asia. The same goes for Yugoslavia in Europe. Korea and Vietnam were awesome at baffling the imperialist powers. Cuba was a good scare for the Western nations. That petty much sums it up.
Right now, probably the Black Panthers, because it was a movenet that's relevant to my time and culture, and because of all that they accomplished. Plus Huey Newton really new what he was talking about.

The Black Panthers are relevant to your time and culture?
Dude you're like 20-30 years late... But yes the message is relevant. ![]() Fitzy wrote:
