Adidas is a German company, by the way. You cannot accuse Castro of being inconsistent because Cuba has trade and diplomatic contact with Germany.

From what I understand it is the uniform of the Cuban Olympic track & field team. They presented it to him.

I've always thought this in addition: why do the DPRK wear adidas or Fila in sporting events?

It seems very much against the ideology, but then again I suppose where do you draw the line?

Because he needs the products of capitalism to live the lifestyle he wants. That man doesn't want to live in the same conditions as the people he governs; it's much easier to preach your hate against capitalism than to remove yourself from it.

Adidas is an official sponsor and supplier of the Olympic games/teams. Why should Cuba not accept free sportswear?

Did it occur to anyone that "why does castro wear that adidas shirt" has nothing to do with capitalism? It's funny how people basically created an argument out of this sentence when nothing was directly implied at all.
