although it was abolished during the 1960's, communism was in australia before then. i dont know how or why, but someone came into the democratic system and set up a vote for communism. but becuase everbody was a demicrat, no-one voted! oh well

(i said the wrong word...... i meant abolished not outlawed..)

How can they get away with that?!?
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stomping on a human face. Forever.

No it wasn't!

There was a constitional referendum in 1956 to authorise a ban on the communist party, but it failed. By 56 percent or something.

Yes. The Communist Party of Australia is real and legal.

Communist/socialist political parties and activities have always been legal in Australia.

There was merely an attempt to illigalise the Australian Communist Party. That's it.

the commie party is still up and running, but it seemed everybody liked a anti-commie PM, because they were brainwashed from childhood to believe that capitalists are allowed to restrict the way people live, but communists are tortureing careless little bastards.

sorry, the way capitalists seem to get brainwashed amazes me, but i dont think communist propoganda must be that bad because it doesn't seem to work as well.

The CPA (Communist Party of Australia) are still up and running. They seem to be smaller than they were but im unsure whats going on with them now. they recently had a fire in they HQ building. I seem to like these guys alot more than any other socialist organisation. They seem logical and apply lenins visions to the party.

It was in 1951.

The Communist Party was abolished in 1991. Peter Symon's Socialist Party changed it's name to the Communist Party of Australian in 1996.
