Abby Martin, formerly of RT where she hosted "Breaking the Set", which focused on media manipulation and censorship, as well as promoted anti-capitalist news, has moved to Telesur where she has a new, more explicitly leftist series called "The Empire Files", which is very good and recommended.
Part 6 of the series is called "America's Unofficial Religion" and it goes over that country's long, ruthless, bloody war against communism. Even though this is old news to most of us, it is still very much worth watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hznlp-DwgSw ![]() "You say you have no enemies? How is this so? Abby Martin is great, and grabbing her gives me high hopes for Telesur.
RT's top-billing shows now, though, are: a pretty normal liberal who often makes good points anyway (Thom Hartmann), a smug stereotypical NYCite who often makes good points anyway (The Resident), and a crazy person who might once or twice make decent points (Jesse Ventura). They've basically become what CurrentTV was, a mainstream liberal but left-of-Obama channel, with an added bit of Russian perspective on the news for their nightly news segment that nobody watches.

I guess that's RT America. RT has better shows like Crosstalk, Keiser Report or In the Now.

Ohkay, I've watched all the episodes of the show up to now. Not a huge feat, there haven't been many. It's very, very left and awesome. She's had on a Sanders-ite "socialist" (Chris Hedges), but even that was a solid discussion on the military-industrial complex and how Christianity was hijacked historically by the powers that be.
On the other hand, Noam Chomsky has also had an episode mostly devoted to an interview with him. And even more radically, one of the PSL's leaders as well. On RT she did similar, but couldn't pull in big names like Chomsky generally and veered about evenly between radical and "progressive" left. Also this show seems much more in-depth, it's not based on 5-minute segments like the last one.
I just watched the first episode. I've been completely staying away from politics recently but Abby's got style.
