No he wasn't, and the fact that CPUSA writes such absurd articles only proves how low have they fallen. What a shame.
He MIGHT NOT BE but bourgeois ideologues commit the same blasphemous conclusions that capitalism is God-ordained invoking the verses "poor and rich", "master and slave" and that Jesus Christ is a capitalist who claims (his) "my vineyards in Spain". Thou shalt not use my name in vain-God!!
Of course he was. Who else could enter the Temple of Jerusalem with a scourge?

In fairness they don't seem to be necessarily answering the question in the affirmative, just promoting some event. Christian morality is anti-communinist to the core, blessed are the meek indeed. The problem with Christianity, as with all ressentiment based morality is that it claims the moral superiority of the poor and week in the place of actual superiority. To quote Monty Python's Life of Brian "What Jesus clearly fails to realise is that it's the meek who are the problem." As for Liberation Theology, pure piffle. It substitutes working class organisation and self-liberation for the role of petty-saviours in the left-wing clergy and their lay apostles, translating Christianity's metaphysical reliance on the notion of salvation from en high into political form. The moment one accepts the notion of 'totalitarianism', one is firmly locked within the liberal-democratic horizon. - Slavoj Žižek
When Christian politicians practice dirty politics, it is a license to us communists also to do so. So we grab every opportunity.

If the gospels are to be taken at face value, I'd say not. He notoriously said:
Mark 14:7 wrote:(Apparently when some disciples rebuked him for wasting money on fancy perfumes or something. ) Basically it sounds like standard conservative logic for justifying social injustices. edit: Was there meant to be a poll attached to this thread?
Can somebody do the poll for me? I don't know. (That was funny Shigalyov )
When we reached that stage as Judgment Day, I, a convinced communist, would compare myself with the Oklahoma unabomber. I organized trade unions, I saw to it that the workers get their rightful share in collective bargaining agreements, God. But I did not commit genocide on a specific race. I did not steal. I did not accept bribes from mob bosses in return for prayers for their souls. Yes, I did not pray. But I lawyered for the oppressed and the victims of injustice. Judge on me O Lord. Judge too on Timothy McVeigh, a self-professed Right wing conservative racist!!!Judge on us at the same time! I am sure of myself! Bah! By Karl Marx's beard, I sure hope DAS doesn't hijack this thread too. OP-Bagration wrote: That was also funny and witty, OP-Bagration. I might disagree with you but I am as objective as my professors in Political Science courses who can 'shift their allegiance' from capitalism to socialism and vice-versa. |
