Now apparantly there is progressive Muslim punk rock, called "taqwacore". What else will people think to use punk for? It seems to me that the punk subculture is ill defined, if not self contradictory. Everything from Christian right extremism http://minnesotaindependent.com/58393/gop-linked-punk-rock-ministry-says-executing-gays-is-moral , to "queercore", for instance. If there's one thing I've come to learn about the meaning of punk, it's that punk has no definate meaning, and can mean anything, or nothing. So yeah, lets utilise punk as means of spreading our message. After all even real life Nazis are doing it too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_punk

I was kind of a punk in High School in the 80's though I listened to more Black Sabbath than PIL and the Sex Pistols, the Ramones reamain one of my favorite bands, Bonzo goes to Bitburg, heh. I joined a Trotsky orginization and a lot of us were punks. We handed out literature and held some protests and some of us got suspended. Good times. Though I am not a Troskyite anymore, I question whether I really was one, because I really didn't totally understand the issues then and I argued with people that the Soviet intervention is Afghanistan was a good thing and that Gorbachev was betraying communism.
Today I consider myself a Marxist Leninist, and I definitely am not a punk anymore, but I fondly remember those days. I had a lot of fun.

I love Jello Biafra he has a lot of good rants, and some of his music is awesome, here is the song Full Metal Jackoff, which is close to being Heavy Metal I love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xYKWm83BI8&ob=av3n
He is definitley in the anarchist vein, but he says some interesting stuff, and is clearly anti capitalist. I wish I had discovered this music back then, but I never knew about Jello or the Dead Kennedys, the 80s were a time before we knew everything with the internet.

Whenever if see one of the "first world problems" memes (http://memegenerator.net/First-World-Problems) I'm always reminded of the "Holiday in Cambodia song. [Language warning... I was going to post it but some of the lyrics are pretty edgy.]
love DK and sh1t, too, however this is the definition of petit bourgoise degeneration, bourgoise infiltration, bourgoise indoctrination, bourgoise subversion and the international bourgoise conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids
