They are blaming Greece as the last soviet state in europe
Is this kind of "socialism" that is to blame you see.. They just want to erase all memory, rewrite history. Yes, it happens!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhQKmixO8MA

Under communism, there is no freedom; you are not free to live in poverty, be homeless, to be without an education, to starve, or to be without a job Quote: How? People like that can't string together proper sentences.
The guy was also a survivalist type, who told me and my coworker that we should get guns and ammunition, so there's that.

"Communism is against everything that is right and just, it steals my rights to private property and makes me do things not of my own will. It takes away the rights of individuals to choose what they want to do."
Utterly preposterous and ironic, as the US Government is slipping down the slope that does take away individual rights. runequester wrote: Really, I would buy bulk ammo of the common calibers (.22LR, 9x19mm, .45 ACP, .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .308 Winchester, .270 Winchester, et cetera) and then buy food and start a surplus of distilled water. I would look into the two year range, if I was a survivalist. Having a supply of Food and Water that can last you that long will keep you alive. You would also need some firearms to prevent looters from stealing your supplies or killing you and then doing the former stated task. I honestly don't like the ideas some of those nutters come up with. Just buying guns and ammo would not be enough. (Before this topic derails, I would not like to get into a discussion about survivalist motives. Those people are not the most reliable people to listen to, and I don't associate with their ideals. I just have a mind for realism about situations like that, among other things.) Last edited by Markius Fox on 19 Jan 2012, 22:27, edited 1 time in total.
Sorry to go off topic but would being a survivalist be the same as being paranoid of a zombie apocalypse and thus stocking up on essentials?
"Communism can never work! Just look at the USSR and China!" or "Communism (or socialism) is just for lazy people who want to leech off of everyone else's hard work." runequester wrote: This one really, really ticks me off. And great rebuttal, along with Soviet78's about the malleability of human nature. Also I'll add that people seem to forget the finer parts of human nature. It's cynical if they can see the greed, selfishness, fear and hatred in human nature but not the compassion, love, altruism, empathy...etc. Also, regarding this topic, why not we post the stupid argument along with counter arguments to them? Allows for more discussion and learning.

Why do we always get into arguments with people who are ignorant and uneducated? I'm sorry but i'm not generalizing for all americans
The funniest shit I've heard was at Occupy LA when our party set up a stand and few people showed up, and then some semi-homeless guy shows up, and he's saying that socialism didn't work in Russia and stuff, and then he says that if we had it here in America, communism will take away everything we have. and then I was thinking "What the **** have you got?" ![]() In the Soviet Union you destroy free-market, In America free-market destroys you
I was talking about yugoslavia to a guy at a local socialist meeting and he said "yugoslavia was great until stalin rolled in with tanks".
This from a guy who should know better Soviet America is Free America!

"Communism is a good idea and all...but it can never work in real life and so I hate it." <---true response I got from somebody -.-
this is a true conversation.
friend: "communism works well in theory" me: "what's communism then?" friend: "I don't know" So many people(especially those in America) are completely uneducated, preferring fear mongering as opposed to actual discussions. It really is sad.
I think that the phrase "Communism works well in theory, but.... " has got to be the most overused one in modern politics.
Part of the appeal seems to be that it appears to make the speaker sound reasonable and considered (like they've actually written out the arguments on paper and have weighed up the pros and cons in great seriousness). It's really just another one of those empty catchphrases that have been repeated so often that many accept it as axiomatic.
lol, complete agreement.
But the other awesome thing is that everybody, everybody you explain communism to, will want it. Like nobody will ever be able to disagree that it's an awesome idea, it's just the "but..." that supposedly makes it impossible. So funny.
Most of those statements are empty, anti-communist rhetoric repeated over the years verbatim to the point that they are accepted as fact. It should be the task of all serious communists to educate people, lest Marxism fall into obscurity due to a general ignorance amongst the population.
I remember watching Animal Farm in class years ago and the teacher was all like: See [stupid] students, this is why communism is a totalitarian system to be opposed at every corner!

Just look at the "Is "Targetted Killing" acceptible?" thread, and there you have them. What's keeping you all from starting a company?!
Terror without virtue is fatal; virtue without terror is impotent.
'Right, because child molesters aren't "bad guys" they're just a different class of people with opposed interests... Are you kidding me? More like there's no such thing as "different classes." Black, white, poor, rich - we are all human beings sharing this planet being part of a whole universe that's inter-connected'
After i made a remark that bourgeois politicians being 'bad guys' or not is completely irrelevant and u should wonder who they represent rather than what bullshit comes out of their mouth We need to make revolution so our kids wont grow up in corporate prostitution

Also 'the only thing you own is the cloths you wear' DERP II Western propaganda to justify the agressive tactics towards the Soviet Union, by telling people all sorts of crap...... “It is better to die standing than to live on your knees.“-Che Geuvara
