Not sure if this is already on here. I had a quick look around and couldn't find it so I assume its not. If it is, forgive me. I know that a lot of people have been wanting to read the Green Book (Muammar Al-Gaddafi), so I found it in English. Good site and i'm hoping to read it soon!

I've read it and there's some pretty reactionary stuff in there along with some good parts. He promotes a weird type of theocratic socialism although I have no idea if that's how it really was in Libya. He gives an expose on tribes and nations giving me the impression that he had no problem with nationalism and borders although a lot of it seems to be ambiguous, on top of the fact that he wanted to make a "United States of Africa". I'm not sure whether he done that simply to appeal to the Libyans of the time or if he actually believed it.

If he really was a Marxist/Socialist or whatever he was, it was some strange variation! But in reference to the "United States of Africa"...we need to remember that Gaddafi was partially insane. This is clear when the revolution was around, but whether that insanity had taken a hold of him at the time of writing this book, we'll never know.

This is the LLCO statement of Gaddafi's death. It talks about his successes and failures as a leader. Read parts of the green book. It argues some uberphilosophical hodgepodge about the oppressive party, mass, union, tribal, etc etc system. A lot of negation. ![]()

A very good article! It's true that the NTC would not have prevailed without NATO support so its highly likely, if not certain, that oil or something similar has been promised to NATO. How can the NTC hope to rule a country they weren't destined to control?
And as for the Communists who turned on Gaddafi, a similar thing is happening to Kim-Jong Il. Now that he is dead, people are condemning him and hoping for a better DPRK. These 'Communists' need to consider where they REALLY stand. ![]() "Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem." Joseph Stalin

I sound like the West? Maybe that's because I am from the West! And who are you to generalise everyone who lives in the West?
Gaddafi said that there was no revolution when there clearly was! He said that his people loved him! Give me evidence to suggest that he was not insane? ![]() "Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem." Joseph Stalin
Give you evidence to suggest he was not insane ? You are the one making an obscure claim
We need to make revolution so our kids wont grow up in corporate prostitution
Sky was the limit. Then the communists came! Red Brigade wrote: He wasn't exactly "insane", but he was naive, his theory was naive, and he fanatically believed in his naive ideas. Calling Obama "his son" was also way over the top. OK so killing your own people in masses and then completely denying it? The man could barely speak, people hated him and he insisted that he was loved. He was a complete nutcase

But in my experience Westerners especially Americans tend to be more ignorant on things like this. There was no revolution, there was a violent civil war started by foreign rebels, Wahhabists, and NATO. If it was anything it was a counter revolution. Calling this a revolution would be like calling what happened to Yugoslavia a revolution. Most Libyans did like Gaddafi and it does not matter if they liked him or not he did not have power in Libya the people did. There are a lot of things to prove he is sane, he helped create a stable functioning socialist country in Africa, he housed every Libyan, he made sure Libyans got the medical care they needed, he even started a project to bring water to the desert through underground pipes, he also supported african unity and african nations working together. Because of al of this the West calls him crazy and insane. Comrade Whiggon wrote: He did not kill his own people the Libyan people fought against NATO backed Islamic rebels. He could speak fine, but old age did start to hit him hard in the late 2000's this is evident in his face, and how he started to stutter a bit in speeches. But old age comes to every one and effects every one differently. Most Libyans did not hate him. He was nothing close to a nutcase.
