I still have yet to come across any kind of photograph with Stalin and Trotsky in it together. I find that interesting.
I know the two were never on any good terms with each other, but you'd think there would be some photographs of them together at least standing in a group with their other comrades.

Maybe all were destroyed during Stalin's rule, if there were ever any? But usually most of the original photos were able to be uncovered, and compared with the airbrushed photos.

Does anyone know of any such photograph?

There are some pictures from Felix Dzershinsky's Funeral (1926) with Trotsky and Stalin both carrying the casket. I couldn't find any stills just at the minute but there's a video you can watch here:

Much of Stalin's reign was spent in an effort to write Trotsky out of his pivotal role in the revolution and in the creation of the Soviet state. Clearly any pictures of Trotsky next to a person as important as Stalin would be at odds with this re-write.

Maybe so, but some exist nonetheless. They probably only remain because they were in the possession of non-Soviet sources - made available to them for newsreels of the day I would imagine. I haven't seen any others than the ones from the funeral though - no state where Stalin had influence would have allowed such images much later than around 1926.

That's kinda my point. I'm sure they didn't get all of the literally thousands of pictures there must have been of them together.

Finally...I did find a photograph with Stalin and Trotsky together. It was just as Shigalyov had said in his first reply, it is a picture of the two (and familiar faces) carrying Lenin's casket.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the few photographs of them together, seeing as others had to have been destroyed during Stalin's USSR times.

I can say this is the first distinctive photograph I've ever seen them in together, so I was a bit thrilled at the time..
Here it is:
