The Ghosts of the Soviet Union.

So, I have a question, are there any reports of any paranormal activity relating to certain events in Soviet history, like the Russian Civil War or WWII? I would be kind of if there was none because Americans like to talk about haunted sites related to their Civil War, yet the American Civil War was absolutely nothing like the Russian Civil War or the WWII. Some of the biggest battle of human history happened there. If traumatic events leave ghosts, it would be extremely surprising to have none related to battles like Kursk and Stalingrad. I am not really a believer in things like ghosts, but I am just looking to see if there is anything on these sites.

In that case,She really did "save" Leningrad.A million and half people starved to death there,after 3+ years of siege and numerous failed Soviet attempts to unblock the city.

Yeah, whatever. You're right, I stand corrected.

What with the average Communist being a pretty committed materialist, I don't think many "supernatural miracles" either occured or were reported. Stalin was willing to reopen the churches to boost morale, but I don't think he'd have willingly relied on public prayer or miracles to bolster his position.

I've heard real atheists talk about seeing ghosts before so anything is possible. I just don't think we'd see the kind of supernatural-tourism as we've seen in the west.

Well just a few years prior to the Civil War Russia was an absolute monarchy controlled by the Russian Orthodox Church.. actually that might have something to do with it. Not sure how much the Church advocates "ghosts."

The Orthodox Church never controlled the monarchy in Russia, it was quite the other way 'round (a trend which continued, far more nakedly, under the Bolsheviks).

And, of course, there are many superstitions and legends concerning the saints in Russia. You need only open up some Dostoevsky (particularly the passage dealing with the life of the Elder Zossima in The Brothers Karamazov) or research Russian folklore on Wikipedia.

As for Soviet-era accounts, I haven't come across any myself, but I'm sure they're there. Especially now in modern times when "the story can be safely told" (TM).

They'd have found bear tracks though, wouldn't they? And it doesn't explain the radioactive clothing.

Unless they were radioactive, glowing, flying bears... used by the military...
