What happen to the Socialist Labor Party why are they now a paper organization with few members why did they have to basically shut down in 2008?

They dwindled down to a membership of 500 by the end of the 1990's. I left the party myself at that time. They just don't have the people skills to make contacts and alliances with other groups, and their DeLeonist-syndicalist position is simply too obsolete to make any converts in the 21st century. In simple words, their refusal to change has made them a museum piece. Since 2005, they've been on a fund raising drive to raise $25,000 to get the party started again. Unless Bob Bills sells his house, it will never happen.
