Was Lysenkoism really as horrible as Wikipedia puts it?

Merits of Lysenko are collectivization policies and their long term benefits in terms of productivity and the fight against Nazi eugenetic pseudo-science.
But Lysenko also made huge scientifical errors, which did have negative repercussions on agriculture in the URSS and in China, causing waste and improductivity.

Yes, his intention is good but he made huge error. Reject Mendelian genetics theory is a very big error. If genetics theory had been accepted in USSR, the agriculture of USSR would have a big leap.

Lysenko himself was almost certainly sincere, but he made huge scientific errors, bordering on incompetence, and the fact that he received full state backing meant that these errors became ingrained into the entire system, to the long-term detriment of Soviet agriculture and science.
