Nudism doesn't necessarily mean sexuality. Germans are stereotyped for having some 'different' sexual habits, though we have to remember that the guy being interviewed was an artist, and his opinion on sexuality in the GDR doesn't necessarily reflect those of ordinary East German workers. His attitudes were likely to be shaped by those around him -other intellectuals and 'avant garde' artists.

I have to agree with Soviet78 here. We can't use artists exclusively as a measure of East German sexuality in it's entirety. The fact this guy was permitted to do his work is an interesting indication however.
