LOL. That's pretty weak. Many of the great thinkers in history had a disability or some kind of illness. It's not a good reason to discredit them and it's pretty low for someone to try on those grounds.
Just for the record, I object to this article's move to the Off Topic Forum. No basis, in my opinion, for doing so. I quoted an article that debates the historical source of Marx's theories - even the article seems ludicrous to us, for some reason guys with PhDs took it seriously (albeit PhDs in dermatology).

Marx already developed his alienation theory in his 1844 Manuscripts, whilst his disease only appeared at the last stage of his life.
Phail! ![]() Ideology transforms human beings into subjects, leading them to see themselves as self-determining agents when they are in fact shaped by ideological processes. L. Althusser Quote: lol, of course. I thought it was quite comedic... Quote: I'll allow it to remain as long as it stays serious and on topic. If I start seeing non-serious or off-topic posts, it'll go back to Mir.
It's not like serious talking isn't allowed in Cafe Mir, is it?
It was interesting, I wonder if he really did have low self esteem *
![]() I hope this doesn't get me banned again-Fontis Quote: well, the article, I think, is a symptom of modern psychology and behavioral sciences - an awful and vulgar sort of 'individualistic determinism' where even intellectual achievements can be somehow reduced to certain specific behavioral or psychological episodes in the individual's life. What an awful discipline.
Well yeah, it's sort of sad.
You ever hear about how some liberals wanted George Bush removed from office because he was still an alcoholic or whatever? *
