Marx said that history doesn't repeat itself and if then as a farce only.

For a true revolution to happen there has to be a massive crisis and as massive crisis hadn't happened in the first world for some 60 years as capitalist have learned how to avoid them(massive miltary expenditure mostly) and the revolutions in third world countries are seldom allowed to go on I'd say we're a good 50 years away from a new USSR.
Besides Russia's economy is in full swing which doesn't make a country exactly ripe to revolution, isn't it?

Actually, Russia is still in bad shape. Putin's in power and apparently staged terrorist attacks to go to war with Chechnya (sp?). He killed someone out of the country, and killed people for criticizing him. We'll be back in no time.

Comarad, those are good words in our tough times, I sure do hope you're right!

Marx, the genius that he is, has been wrong before. He also said that Russia wasn't going to have a communist revolution first, and we know how wrong he was. He also said his mouthstache was cool, but.. o_o it won't look good on me.

I strongly support to back to the USSR times, ad i believe that if Comrade Putin becomes the leader of USSR, he can rule all the world, and he may bring Socialism to all the world.

Putin's a strongman- he sure can control a degenerating country & keep it afloat more so than Gorbachev or Yeltsin but I still wouldn't put Putin on the league of a world Socialist revolutionary like Castro- though.

From the newsfeed & trip reports I've been getting as of late (from Russia friendly sources since India is one of Russia's closest allies today), Putin seems more keen to poise Russia's capitalists to gain global prominence more so than shaping a future Socialist bloc like the USSR.
