Here's some stuff. Sorry, I couldn't be bothered to post any at the time.

He thought he would be able to buy off his victims family, but they are refusing. On the evidence and on past experience, he's clearly guilty. Only a real travesty of justice could save him from execution.

Under Vietnamese law, the charge of obscene acts with a minor carries a penalty of one to five years in jail.

It sickens me that an alleged "Socialist Republic" is so degenerated, that hordes of paedophiles and other sex maniacs plague the country.

Viet Nam is not degenerated. How can you say hordes of "pedophiles" and "sex maniacs" when it is one foreigner who committ this awful crime? Do you think this is not a crime in Viet Nam?

You honestly think it is only one foreigner that goes to Vietnam and buys women and children for garbage sale prices? According to police records there is 180,000 prostitutes in Vietnam (source) and I'm sure the number is much higher.

I'm sure it is a crime in Vietnam. However if you open your country up to the First World, you will find all sorts of degenerated paedophiles and sex maniacs that will litter your country and spread their currency around. That is why I applaud North Korea for having restricted tourism in their country.

On a lighter note, I've noticed recently that the term "gary glitter" is now being used as Cockney rhyming slang for the alimentary canal. As in "taking it up the gary glitter". Just thought I'd share that with you.

Do you have any explanation, or have you just noticed? Perhaps its because the system hasn't been cleaned up properly, economically, socially, and in running the law.

I agree with you on that wealthy enough foriegners are likely to come over, where they won't be in danger with the law, at least for long.

I think that "Glitter" has now bought off his victim so he won't be executed now (shame) since he isn't facing the more serious charge of child rape anymore. The harshest penalty he may receive now is 12 years jail.

Yes, it is a shame I would hope he would be shot or hanged.
I agree with Comrade Jobbyman about North Korea, every country should stop tourists and immigration from the west. The western plague must be stopped. The only foreigners that should be allowed to enter are diplomats or delegates. Let us hope Viet Nam will toughen up its policy on foreigner admissions.

A lot of people call places like Cuba, Vietnam, ect. a shithole. If you take away one of there main ways to make money, it will be worse than a shithole (don't really know what that is).

As distasteful as it is (even for people who aren't from the country) they need the money from tourism.

Cuba and Viet Nam are called 'shitholes' by capitalist westerners. What they do not realise is that their countries are the real 'shitholes'.

No, they would do very well without the money. Instead, they ought to strive to rid themselves of capitalist influences, and go further along the communist path. Of course, if they go towards capitalism, then they will have to accept money from disgraceful industries such as tourism.

Like in the DPRK (not signaling just the DPRK)? Where they are sitting on nukes and starving?

Countries such as Cuba don't have enough land for agriculture to support enough food for their 11 million people. They need to import. How will they get food? Just being communist won't bring food to them. Sure the have med-supplies they can export but tourism is what keeps the country alive. Cuba's economy is dependent on tourism.

Combodia is worse though, it has become the red light district of the US because Fidel kicked out the crimminals and foriengh perverts.

Comrade Jobbyman, I totally agree with you. I also recall reading an article stating something to the effect of Cuban medicines exported abroad having the potential to outstrip tourism in the income they generate for the country, or are already doing so.

All the other stuff about 'needing' tourism sounds to me a lot like a Globe and Mail (conservative Canadian newspaper) article I read today, with the title saying something to the effect of 'We Need More Sweatshops'. Countries need to be allowed to develop their infrastructure and industrial base to use for their own purposes and to export abroad (as long as the income stays in the country's, best of all the government's hands). Cuba is proving with its very limited resources that it can generate demand to the extent that even first world countries will be willing to buy their products. Third world governments must look at the example of Cuba to see a positive future for themselves, and an end to the exploitation of their land, people, and the theft of their resources due to their acceptance of the slavemaster-slave relationships that exist.

According to reports, Cambodia has a real problem compared to any other country. Thailand is a capitalist country and it surely has a worse problem than Vietnam? Apparently this Glitter fellow has been busted several times already. I'm sure the Spartacist League will leap to his defense
