It would be really freaky to stand under one of those statues and have lenin or stalin stare at you....Ugh...I wouldn't be able to sleep again.

(I'm not sure if this is the same one) That statue that I saw consisted of 3 soldiers who symbolized the deffenders of Russian fatherland. One of those soldiers was in dark age uniform(war with Mongols), second in uniform of the Russian army in the war with Napoleon, and third - in Red Army uniform of the Great Patriotic War. ![]() ![]() A Lenin statue in a very small Dutch settlement in the north of Groningen(the north-eastern province) called "Tjuchem". The story behind it from a Dutch website, there's more info on it in Voorwaarts!, but I can't find this particular issue at the moment. Quote:

Ho Chi Minh statue (Ho Chi Minh City)
Here is a familiar HCM statue in the city's center. You can see Uncle Ho with children. The statue is located in a square in front of the People's Committee building (which lies behind the statue). ![]() ![]()

I recently visited this monument in Treptower Park, Berlin. Its the East-Berlin monument to ww2, much more impressive than the west-berlin monument, wich i also visited.
