What, did you think that USSR defeated Axis alone?

Why do you have to turn everything into a fight? Its a great picture and the Russians deserved to get that flag hanging there over the Reichstag because they were the major power who had lost the most, and fought the best and largest of the Nazi regime's troops.

I yust find it odd that some people actually think that USSR defeated Axis alone.

ALL of the Allies had a role in Germany defeat (espically making it a 2 front war for Germany).

Also just throwing out that the US let the USSR take Berlin.

The USSR had ample supplies and soldiers to win World War 2 by themselves and free Europe, I have always thought of the Western allies as a "cleanup crew" as basically all they did was "free" France, Italy, and Northern Africa, which wasn't much the Russians could of did it all themselves.

but then why did Stalin demand a second front? i think that they came to secure capitalism in western europe, and "free" it from eastern influence. for the most part they just gave money.

The russians were well inside Germany long before the landings at Normandie. The US didn't "let" them as you would like to claim, they simply had no choice because the Red Army had simply steamrollered over any germans standing in their way.

Comrade, I'm saying they could, if the Allies didn't invade France then the USSR would finish the job as such, but Stalin knew that if he had to do it alone, than he would suffer massive losses, which no country wants...all those Russians...

Is anybody here claiming that? Let us appreciate what the USSR did because we happen to be more interested in that country, it's not as if we're teaching our children that Europe had solely the Soviets to thank or that it would have been more favourable for the allies to make a pact with Hitler against the "evil commies".
