I'm not asking if you want it to happen, I'm asking if you think it is possible. Discuss.
Umbopa will prevail.
Such questions liek this are too vague to answer.

Not likely, most of the guys ruling former Soviet republics will never let it happen.
Not that I care for it either. ![]()

It would be a dream come true if USSR comes back. First I would Cry. Them I would find a way to defect to it. Picture it: May Day 2040! Soviets Win 120 golds in Leningrad Olymipcs! New soviet Space Station. First Soviet Lunar colony. Martian Landing: First people on mars: Yuri Alexandrov and Catrina Karenkova! Heaven on earth, comrades!
The Union's back and it's better than ever For may day this year, The union's here! Long live our soviet motherland, built by the people's mighty Hand, Long live her people united and free! Strong in a freindship tried by fire, Long may her crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see! ![]() Whoppee for Comrade Sergei.
Red flag on the Capitol and apple-trees on mars. Hmm.

Comrades, I grow too giddy with excitement, and then so mournful at the loss of our cherished homeland (Don't even go there, Siberian Spetznaz!) that i think i will die. Argh, wo is me. Alas, poor USSR, i knew it well, horatio.
Now there is only one place that will make me feel happy Cuba, Havana! Best moment ever: simpsons episode: UN building Diplomat 1: the soviet union will be pleased to offer amnesty to your wayward wessel. Diplomat 2: The soviet union? I thought you guys broke up! Diplomat 1: Yes, thats what we wanted you to think! Muahahahaha! (presses button on desk, "Russia" sign flips over to read "Soviet Union") Moscow parade floats open and tanks roll out Soviet troops march out of garage doors Berlin wall (complete with guards) pops out of ground Lenin wakes up and smashes through glass tomb Lenin: Grrr! Must crush capitalism! Grrr! RRRRR! ![]() Whoppee for Comrade Sergei.
Yea, that was a good part.

Well, all's we can really do comrade's, is wait. We just all have to be patient, and see what happens in the future. Hopefully millions will wake up in Russia one day, and finally say "I'va had enough of the Western and capitalist ways" and revolt or something...but all we can do is wait...and dream....

The Soviet Union will not come back. The supporters are dying, most of the youth have been taught that it was bad (or just don't care in general), the leader of the communist party is a racist, and, as Steve said, the Russian oligarchs and mafia won't allow it (they got Yeltsin back in power in 1995 even after his pre-election expected results were only 10% of the vote. They can do it again and again. Plus they have something the communists don't: money.
Aw rats...you didnt have to dampen my spirits and dreams...but it is possible...

I'm sorry. I would like it back (at least most aspects of it), but the way things are in Russia today, I don't think its going to happen. I have that effect on people, dampening their spirits Sorry.
Come on, you gotta be positive though! Dont look on the bad side! Look positivly!!!

I kind of doubt it, Grandfather Lenin. I don't think we'll see a new Soviet Union. A union maybe, but not a communist/socialist one. The country (Russia at least and certainly Ukraine. Belarus is really stuck in a timewarp, where instead of totalitarianism, they have an authoritarian dictatorship) are moving away from that time period. The new generation doesn't want communism. The older ones feel nostalgia but don't believe it's practical. I'll be sure to look for it, but in the next 70 years, Russia might not even exist anymore (many analysts, looking at the population decline over recent times, estimate Russia will only comprise of 50 million people in 50 years).
I think it is very possible in our lifetime, because everything in russia right now is dropping like a brick, and they need a savoir! But the thing is, no one will be their savoir, because no one over there has the balls to start something with the new government, but hopefully that will change...
