Any members here? I was curious to talk to someone who was a member and to find out what they thought of the group. Any insight would be vastly appreciated.

We know its misspelled. Alot of people don't even know the correct spelling anyway, especially in the USA Midwest. Anyway, even with the misspelling, its still pretty recognizable (a websearch yields thousands of hits for that spelling.)

As for the PLP, I believe they are US based, but they seem to be pushing pretty hard for internationalism.

I've researched that party a little bit. The Progressive Labor Party of America. They are almost Stalinist to the point of deification. Much like the former leader of Albania. They don't believe in participating in elections, it has to be a militant revolution with them. I disagree with them on several points.

I agree somewhat with what they say...

...However, I don't think I buy the idea of skipping from capitalism directly in to communism. I think you're still going to need socialism.

From a dielectic point of view, I just don't see this as a terribly legitimate thing to do. They argue some obvious problems that exist with socialism, but I think that's cause for reforming socialism instead of scrapping it altogether.

That was one thing I did like about them: the fact that they want a revolution in the near future, and that they are not afraid to use militant tactics to promote Communism. I don't necessarily agree with all that they spout; alot of it I recognize as pure propaganda. Plus, I like their views better than the CP of America.

Any alternatives to these parties in the USA? Or am I going to have to remain a lone agitator?

Not much to offer in the US.

I feel voting, in general, is like having a kithcen knife when your opponent has a machine gun; it's a shitty slot, but you might as well try to defend yourself with it (while working on another solution in your head anyway).

I thought about joining the Socialist Action Party but didnt. I joined the Democratic Party

1) Vote twice as much if you're a Dem or a Rep
2) Can 'hold the party hostage' still by voting for other parties in an attempt to pull the DNC leftward
3) Opposes the Republicans, who in honesty, are more evil

And perhaps most imporantly

4) None of the US socialist parties speak to me at all. They are either too Stalinst or they're too hippyish.

That leaves a hell of a lot of room to fill. Thus, at least on paper, I'm going to side with the party of Jefferson - until I can weild more force myself.

Such a movement is good for the third world, their transition from capitalism to communism can only be good, they truly have nothing to lose.

Yet for the citizen of a capitalist imperialist nation, like most of us, it would mean to a loss in prosperity, as most of the wealth the capitalism generates towards its first world headquarters, derives from third world exploitation.

Hence, I can only appreciate such a party, yet they need to focus their need to the 3rd world and not the 1st. Us first world people need to support their struggle, and oppose when our governments try to go in and crush their socialist movements.

There are at least 25 leftist partys. Thats bad. They all must unite and follow one path. Path of communism. At the and they all want the same. This way, there is no progress.

They took the line that all nationalism was counter-revolutionary, denying the need for liberalion movements in the 3rd world wiht a national chacter. They betrayed the BPP and NLF and many others in my opinion.

They also have anarchist idea about "going straight to communism"..

Like most 1st world parties they are chauvinists..

Going straight to communisim doesnt seem that bad to me, if we are going to fight why not fight directly for what we want instead of fighting for the level down from what we want.

What you said is just like saying let’s send someone into space without testing our rockets or life support system or give a patient a new medication without doing some test on animals etc.

Sudden change will result in utter failure.
