The modern day city of Volgograd doesn't exactly carry any large importance, other than it being the site of the battle of Stalingrad. Its obviously been cleaned up, rebuilt and modernized, and is still a significant city on the Volga River, but other than that, nothing extrodinary is coming out of it.

By the way! There is a term in Russia, "the red belt" or "the red parallel"; it is used to describe very procommunist regions that give most votes to communist candidates. Volgograd is one of them. It is administrated by the communist governors from the first "democratic elections" of 1993...

Well, i actually spoke to a person that lives in Ukraine and actually visited Volgograd, there is a memorial there, and he said besides that, there really isnt much to see, its just a big factory city, lots of Industry there, i'd still like to go, and see the battle site, im actually betting, if divers went down to the bottem of the volga, there is probably tons of old crates of weapons, ammo, bodies, boats, etc...

Its a shame that Microsoft ignored Russia in the Flight Simulator, the US has something like 15000 airports and most of the details, and Russia has like 200 airports and is all flat, plane and colourless....

When the sky is clear in Volgograd it is just a wonderful site for the eye.
