I am not sure if the recent events in iraq are positive or negative. I see you people getting happy when american soldiers are killed... or when some cities are being occupied by guerillia forces... anyway, I dpubt that those guys are the solution for an secure future in Iraq. They just small groups unified because the have a common ennemy! But when the US troops withdraw, those groups will start fighting in order to control the country, that will be civil war... even if the occupation is wrong, the actions of radical groups are not justified...

sticking up for you're country is the best thing you can try. until damn bush invades your tiny little cave and makes ya crawl out. i feel sorry for saddam. but then again what wou'd you do if more than 500,000 men were invading your country and there was nothing more you could do?

I don't feel sorry for any politician.... Saddam, Bush, Poutine etc... they all are criminals... I think that you (davee) wouldn't feel sorry about this fu**er if you were from Iran... or if some of your family members were killed or arrested, just because they had other opinions.... why do you worship dicators and what they have done? You only "like" Saddam because he was an ennemy of the "american satan". That's pretty superficial, if you ask me!

nothing of this justifies tourture, persecution etc... Saddam ruined his nation (the US too, I know). This guy was simply not able to rule in a productive way (not the economic meaning)!

hmmm.......... i guess your right. saddam did kill the conspirators that tried to get rid of him........... but he did make a good point. and at one time he got all the oil stopped into the jewish related countries and then let them back in. he got rich very fast. more staff for the hospitals, tv's in remote areas, a huge palace etc.

But still, I think that his social policies of faux-baathism were more progressive that the ones of the Islamic republic of Iran or Saudi Arabia, for example.
thank you for letting me be myself and you be yours

the man was a nut, i agree.
but as i said he made so much money from holding that oil for so long, that he was able to get so many things for his people during the 70's and 80's .but it was just after that that he went a bit off.

I have read some of your forums and quite frankly I would like to question your revolutionary credentials.

I have fought a rascist, fascist and capitlist regime in South Africa from the age of 18. I was tortured, incarcerated and hounded for the next 18 years of my life.

Who are you?

you know, I´m starting to think that maybe the right thing for everyone right now would be to get Saddam out of his dungeon, say that he repented, and give him back the rifle of the photo.

I mean, he might be a fascist pig, and corrupt, but as things are now, the choice is between an artificially maintained puppet goverment which will fall the moment the troops are withdrawn, or a fundamentalist regimee Iran-style, with both examples being able to supply raw recruits from the beaten up and confused masses to fundamentalist terrorist groups.

I'm not gonna go pro-war or anything but I think we need to lay off and understand that it is a war and there will be casualties, wether we like it or not.
