How many communist do you think there are currently in the United States? Like a rough estimate

The CPUSA in its glory days (1920's) might have numbered about 100,000 members. Nowadays, the sum total of members of all parties put together might approach about half of that.

Under communism, there is no freedom; you are not free to live in poverty, be homeless, to be without an education, to starve, or to be without a job
Off the top of my head I can name the CPUSA, RCPUSA, WWP, PLP, FRSO (there are two parties with the same name, but the "USSR post-56 was still socialist as is modern-day China" one is larger), PSL, ISO, SWP and SEP. There are obviously others, plus various parties that fall within a general "left-wing" orbit (SPUSA, Peace and Freedom Party, the Greens, etc.), but I think I named all the significant ones.
The USA and UK have had tons of tiny parties, not to mention collectives, study groups, and other ostensibly pre-party formations. The chief value of looking at all of them, aside from being interested in leftist history, is that a few had persons who produced works of enduring interest on a subject which was then published by the party or group in question.
And furthermore there are also Communists, such as myself, whom are not official, dues paying, members of any party. And so we would not get counted. We might vote for such progressive left candidates as for example Jill Stein, and Dan La Botz, as I've done, or even take part in demonstrations, but still are not to be found on any of the members list of any organization.
