I have heard a multitude of reasons for people leaving Cuba.
Things like
"Cuba is bad! It is a Dic-hator-shiipppp"
to "The government releases criminals amoung other undesireables to get them out of the way."

I would say that many that left right after the revolution, left in fear of persecution. I would also say that many that left during the 1980's due to the decline in assitance the Soviets could provide at that time. These immigrants are hailed as heros in the U.S., which I find very funny due to the fact that the embargo puts the squeeze on the Cuban state, and people as well, leading to immigration.

What are your opions on this?

Thanks,
Red Specter
