Since Castro:
- Life expectancy rose almost 20 years
- The mortality rate declined from 11 to 7
- Infant mortality rate declined from 112 to 4.5 (better than USA: 6.14)
- Cuba had in 2003 the lowest HIV prevalence in the Americas and one of the lowest in the world
- Cuba has the second highest doctor-to-patient ratio in the world after Italy
- With a HDI Index of over 0.8 Cuba is one of the 40 most developped countries of the world

How about education in Cuba? I've read that education costs are free since kindergarten until university. Can anyone give an enlightenment or clarification about that? Thank you.
