I've been wondering, could anyone tell me the meaning of this salute? I've seen it on several posters for Young Pioneers, and throughout many socialist countries, and have never really understood it's meaning. Can anyone tell me what it was meant to represent or anything?

This is just a salute, used by several political movements an armies of Socialist nations.
In the People's Republic of China, this is the pose people often take when singing the national anthem. I think it's simply a Socialist version of the military salute. ![]() "Communism is more about love for mankind than about politics." Me
