I was surfing the internet a few days ago, and read up on a project called Luna 2 ( I think. If I am wrong, please correct that.) That was launched by the Soviet Union, and reached the moon. So technically, I believe they reached it first!
Communism is Soviet power plus the electrification of the whole country.

It was never claimed that the Americans landed on the moon first, but that they sent the first manned missions to the moon. The Soviets were also the first to reach both Mars and Venus in this regard as well. The Chinese were the last to send their spacecraft to the moon less than a year ago, which I guess puts communists up on capitalists 2:1. Well, sort of...
