Soviet cogitations: 1
Defected to the U.S.S.R.: 21 Jun 2012, 15:00 New Comrade (Say hi & be nice to me!)
Hi all, I was wondering what were everyday normal people interests back in the USSR during the 70's or early 80's, and I thought about asking somebody who lived those times over here. I'm talking about general interests of the people, the common topics almost everybody shared interest in and talked about, etc. For example, in my country (Spain) exists great passion on football amongst almost all the population, and is one of the commonest topic, so when you go out and listen to sombody's conversation it is very habitual that the conversation is about the last match or something related to football. Amongst the women are also very common conversations on national gossips. So, what were the main interests in Russian people those times? Did they dig sport very much? And if so, which were the most popular sports? What other topics dominated everyday talking amongst everyday, regular people? And which were some common hobbies amongst the regular population?
Thank you very much, and please forgive my bad english.
Hi, Spain bro!
Football was quite popular at the USSR, cause we had several good teams - Dynamo Kiev, Dynamo Moscow, CSKA Moscow, Spartak, Zenith But the Hockey was much more popular. Maybe yiu've heard about the CSKA, Torpedo, about the victories of the national team, and the revaliers with Canada and the USA. The popular week-end spending was shashlyk (shih-kebab). ![]() OMG! It's time to go for meet and to shashlyk party. Be back in 6 hours, drunk and with photos No pasaran! |
