I'm sure everyone here knows 'bout the USSR's anthem. Less known is the fact that each Soviet Socialist Republic within the USSR (except Russia) had its own national anthem as well, which fit in with the fact that, on paper, each SSR was practically its own country. How many of those mention "Great Russia" BTW? Didn't go further from the Moldovan one.
According to the Estonian SSR anthem description: "It and the Karelo-Finnish SSR anthem were the only ones not to mention the Russian people."
I used to have all of these on my playlist of Soviet music, when I still listened to that a lot. Some of them are interesting, others are quite forgettable. I never knew that the Armenian one was written by Khachaturian.
