PSL seems to be a pretty solid, if small, party. They're non-partisan (publicly, at least) when it comes to the Stalin vs. Trotsky debate, and they don't tail after Obama or have dealings with the Democrats as CPUSA seems to have fallen into. Their ideology seems pretty squarely non-revisionist and revolutionary. Perhaps you should check into them further as several of us on SE are doing at the moment. Also, several SE posters are apparently already members of PSL.

PSL isn't a marxist-leninist party, rather a kind of leftist sect. I never heard of them before, so I think they are not very useful. At least, te CPUSA will send youths at the WFDY's festival, so maybe I will talk to them.

I'd ask SE members only about their active experience within parties. Otherwise you might simply be getting some people's innate prejudices against parties they've never really dealt with.
Besides that you should also investigate which party has most regional activity in your area. What kind of activity it is, and if you could see yourself participating in those activities. ![]() Fitzy wrote: OP-Bagration wrote: You have it so backwards and wrong it's hilarious, sorry but you're a big M-L and this is your opinion. What's a 'leftist sect' and what about the PSL qualifies them as one, and how would the CPUSA not qualify for that term more than the PSL? I hope you're not thinking it's the PSL that's useless and the CPUSA is that party of marxist-leninists we should be supporting. I think this what WCM was talking about when he said: WCM wrote: ![]()
The problem is I will never deal with the PSL because my Party has no relation with them. Even if I could, I wouldn't, because I am a "communist", marxist-leninist, not a simple "socialist".

I voted PSL cause I've heard a lot of good things about them. Although I've also heard about the FRSO. The one with FRSO.org as their website that is.

no ones calling them trotskyist he's just saying they split off of a trotskyist party.

Exactly. And it may leave scars.

Yea I'm still confused. What's this have to do with becoming a leftist sect?

I'm an active member of the Communist Party USA and voted for them/us.

Seriously, the "CPUSA isn't M-L, I'M M-L!!" garbage never had substance and is worn out. I don't even recall when S-E ever agreed to a precise definition of Marxism-Leninism. Furthermore it smacks of arrogance to turn up your nose and basically accuse an active worker's party of abandoning our theoretical methodology simply because you don't agree with the conclusions reached. It also flies in the face of good faith between comrades that we at least accept each others word that we are, in fact, communists.
