I see the Dustbin poll has disappeared. Nonetheless, I will post some suggestions here that I think we can all agree on, ideologically and otherwise.

Dagoth was joking with the Stalin suggestion, though. Anyway, I'm in favor of Nicholas II, or Nikolai & Chiang Kai-shek, side by side, or a dustbin.

lol because I've been trying to defend my right to decide all things S-E amirite? No I'm just trying to point out the inherent problems in each candidate so people can make a more informed choice. It's not that I've thought of everything but that I'm offering the different perspective that is absolutely necessary to making a good choice.

That looks like some type of terrible baby-carriage.

@order: is that atoms in the trash can?

That'd be pretty hard to achieve at 50x50. Although I do like the last Czar as an idea.

What about an aristocratic/royal figure? Such as a king, queen, or emperor, or perhaps the Tsar?
Something like https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... cholas.jpg
though I'm not sure how easy it'd be to scale down.

Or here's one I just put together of Nicholas II and George V.

Yes, it was atoms in the dust bin.

I like Red Daughter's pic of Nicholas and George. That'll probably get my vote if something spiffier doesn't turn up.

My only problem is I can't immediately tell who it is. It just looks like two random aristocrats from black and white times.

I still like Trotsky
. The dustbin of history is essentially where I wish he'd go. But a Tsar would be my second choice...

I've changed my SE name to Comrade Gulper.

The fact that RD's pic looks like two random 19th century aristocrats rather underscores the point about the dustbin of history, I'd say. And it's generic enough to leave out all the bickering over specific figures.

I just think it's going to lead to people being like: "what's the DoH picture supposed to be?". You're right that it does underscore their being the representation of the DoH pretty well, it's lost in the confusion of being so small.

Juche Tower. Case closed. Now all that needs to be figured out is which version to actually use.

This could work but there are better ones that I'm too lazy to go find.

All the ones we already have for North Korea (and everything else) are on page one of this thread. Please go look so we don't have repeats. If you see something you want, post a picture or an idea. Let's get organized, please.

For DPRK, #6, 2, and 3, in order of preference.

Okay so I decided that as a potential icon for Communist Literature, I could avoid the obvious Marx/Engels option and potentially make Trotsky appear in a positive light. Does anyone have any ideas for what could represent this?

I kinda agreed with using Marx and Engels in that context. Also I don't see any way to use Trotsky in such a way that wouldn't necessitate doing the same thing with Stalin. I think doing both of them fighting as the CP&tCM icon would be lols.

I hate going for obvious choices. I also made one for Mao. I just want to represent all ends of the spectrum. I like M & E are gonna be the one we all can agree on. Or maybe Lenin.

I like the idea of:
Communism Section
1. Communism : Marx
2. Communist Lit : Engels
3. CP & tCM : Lenin

But still there are a lot of problems inherent in that.
