I am tired of the pan-arabic flags. Red for blood, black for martyrdom, green for islam. That's what we were told in Iraq, anyways. I know they symbolise something else. SO, I made a new flag:

Image

The blue symbolizes the two rivers, Tigris and Euphrates. The sun, Kurdistan. The green leaves, growth and a new beginning. And the palm tree, because it's part of Iraqi culture. It has different shades of green to symbolize the many religions. The palm tree has 19 leaves for the 19 governates. Down in the bottom it says Jumhuriyyat al-Iraq, which means Republic of Iraq.

Could someone make it look better, maybe more professional? I used crayons and paint...

I don't know where else to ask, so I hope it's okay that I ask here.

Oh, and also, me and my dad are going to send it to Iraq. They accept the peoples ideas, so anyone can send them their flag.

Thank you very much.

I just realized I made a mistake. Iraq has 18 governates, not 19. Sorry.

Here's my attempt to clean that flag a bit in GIMP:
Image

I filled the sidebars with uniform colour, changed the sun to a one generated in Inkscape (btw, it's 21 rays, right?) and put the palm in middle of the emblem. I didn't dare to touch the leaves or the palm, which are the best part of your original work.

EDIT: Deleted one leaf from the palm.
