The pigdograts! They seek to break my morale by making their flags too expensive! Well, I shan't give up!
Comrades! You will aid me! Where can I find flags of the USSR on the cheap?

No, seriously, any suggestions? I don't want a small piddly boring 3 by 5 flag, much too small. But the bigger ones are oh so expensive, I just don't know what to do! I'd like to use it while protesting BaraNAZIck Obongo's evil libertarian fascist private option. It's disgusting! No private option! Stop lowering taxes!

Anyway, for reals. Can you hook me up with a place to get flags?

boy i sure hope i don't get banned on my first post

In all honesty you sound rather childish.

But what size flag are you looking for, and what price range is acceptable?

Well, I'd like one larger than boring 3 by 5 feet. But anything larger than that quickly gets extremely expensive.
4 by 6 would be acceptable, I can only spend about fifty bucks. Though I would probably be willing to spend about $70 on 5 by 8, if you can find it that cheap.

I got a "small, piddly boring" 3ft by 5ft flag on eBay for liiiike $6, no shipping charge. So uh. Check eBay maybe? The store I got it from (I can't remember who the user was, and don't feel like checking at the moment, I might edit this later) sells a crap ton of flags, I would imagine they have a larger one for not much more money.

I just remembered that the actual ratio of the Soviet flag is 2:1.

Yeah, the ratio is 2:1, and all the USSR flags (technically a banner) I've found are not. Yet a teacher I had had one with 2:1 ratio, but she never told me where she got it. And you also have to watch out to make sure the hammer and sickle are the right proportions, and the star is correctly drawn. So many versions sold get things wrong. They're still nice, but somewhat dissapointing if you're looking for accuracy.

EDIT: And here's a website with information on the ratio, design, proper hanging technique and correct construction of the flag, as well as some history:
http://flagspot.net/flags/su.html#fla
And here's an interesting article telling you how to make one yourself:
