A book I've scanned. As you might guess it contains a bunch of reports, speeches and articles relating to the congress in question. It also contains two articles on the role of the CPSU in Soviet society. It was put out by New World Review which was linked to the CPUSA and which promoted the USSR to American audiences.

I doubt that in 1976 Brezhnev was capable to read the entire speech, let alone knowing what he was reading.

His mental and physical health started declining a few years later. I know that in 1981, at the 26th CPSU Congress, Soviet TV and radio couldn't broadcast the entire speech, only the beginning and end because he was having obvious trouble delivering it.

Do you have any book written by Suslov? Either in cyrillic or English.
It would be interesting to delve into his mind because of his status.

Most of the stuff put out by Suslov in English were pamphlets, which are hard to acquire.

I find him a mysterious figure and not much is available which he himself wrote, yet he was the theoretician and a shadow-figure in the USSR, his tenure encompassing Stalin to Brezhnev.
