EDIT: Ah crap, didn't realize how old this thread was. Nevermind.
"SOCIALISM is public ownership" - That's RIGHT. But what is taking place here in Vietnam is not socialism, and in fact, a true socialist society hasn't existed in the world. Vietnam is on its 'Transitional Period Towards Socialism', which was considered in 1986, as 'a period to develope the material and technical foundation for Socialism in the future'.

That's kinda funny. It's gone from collective ownership, to selling to foriegn imperialists, to calling selling the coutnry to imperialists 'transition so socialism.'
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY But anywho, the foreign investment has not done much to develop the infrastructure, but to manufacture garments and electronics for consumption in imperialist countries. And to rob the natural resources instead of using them to help the vietnamese people. "Read some of the works of Marx and Engels... couple this with a reading of the Bible and note the parallelism of Communism and the program of Satan." Thomas O. Kay, National Association of Evengelicals
Didn't the vietnameese take up the communist name as a means to an independent country?
As different as we have been taught to look at each other by colonial society, we are in the same struggle and until we realize that, we'll be fighting for scraps from the table of a system that has kept us subservient instead of being self-determined.
Yeah, pretty much.
