I'm never going to be in any danger of getting Yeltsined for one liners. I CAN'T express my thoughts in one lousy line. Brevity is alien to me.
However, on occasion, a one-liner can epitomize the old axiom, "brevity is the soul of wit", as well as edify. A good one liner can telegraph an insight or an opinion in a rapid burst of inspiration, or pencil in a simple correction that obviously needs to be made, without drawing unduly negative scrutiny to the original poster's mistake. These sorts of one liners can best be thought of in the same breath as the old 19th century "aphorism".
What for the purpose of this argument I will call "coma posts", such as "tagged for further review", or "Ditto (link)" are to be excoriated. They can be conveniently dealt with under the one liner rule, but from my point of view, they occupy a separate category of fail. There's not even a thought expressed with these. "Brain fart" is as good a description as any.
My point, and accompanying suggestion, is as follows: "one liners" that disrupt the flow of the topic, and are confusing to newcomers or those of our members who are struggling with the English language, ought to fall under the category of "coma posts", and be dealt with according to established Yeltsin policy.
However, i submit that one liners which manage to contain some useful information, timely correction, or more rarely fall under the "aphorism" category ought to be tolerated, if not specifically solicited (as very few have mastered the art of the epigram).
