Email address problems

Just a little problem which I discovered:
About a month or so back I changed the Email address which I use for this forum - The confirmation letter went through - which I then confirmed - all seemed to be cool, until the other day when I checked my old Email address (to make sure that nothing was still going there) when I discovered a message from S-E (or PoFo to be exact, notifying me of PMs which I had already discovered from within the forum.) Is there something which I can do about this? (Is it just me who has had this problem?).
Any suggestions?
