Hello Comrade, I have some questions about the Russian defense industry. There is very little good information about the Russian defense industry here in the United States, so I hope you can answer some of my questions.
My first question is there any defense contractors still owned by the state? If there are still some, what are they called, as I can’t seem to find any of them? The second question is what are the names of the private defense contractors of Russian?
They're public corporations with the government owning a control packet of shares.

Could you explain to me what you mean by "control packets of shares". Also do you have the names of these "public corporations".
UralVagonZavod (UVZ), Sukhoi Group (NAPO, KnAAPO, IAPO, Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant), RSK MiG, etc.

Thank you comrade TheRussainLord. Are these the only corpotations? And could you also explain to me more, what is a "public corporations", and what a "control packet of shares" are. Is GM, under United States goverment control, a public corporation?
No those are not the only ones. I can't list them all, there's a lot of them. Those are some of the big ones. Just do some reading, en.rian.ru is a good news source for articles on Russian military stuff. Other then that, do some reading. Keep up with the news. You'll start to pick up the names. Or just do some research and you'll find it. I honestly think it's not that hard to google articles on Russian defense contracts, and then get the name of the companies involved.
A public corporation means you can buy the stock on the stock market. A control packet of shares will typically be 50% +1 share. I have no idea what the situation with GM is. I don't keep track of that stuff. banistansig1
TheRussianLord wrote: I have in fact tried this already. What mostly came up, when I Googled it, was websites, from pro right wing people about how bad the Russian defense industry is, or how they are selling everything and anything. I don’t know if it how I asked the question to Google, or if it has to do with where I live, but all I got was useless information. I even tried to wiki it. If I had found the answer another way, I would of not posted the question I asked you.
Ok. Watch this.
Googling "Su-30 contract": http://www.google.com/search?q=su-30+co ... =firefox-a The first 5 results and what defense companies/research bureaus each of them mentions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-35 -Rosoboroneksport http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... /su-30.htm -United Aircraft Building Corporation -IAPO http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/su_30mk/ -RPKB (Kamenskoye Research Bureau) -NIIP (Tikhomirov Research Institute) -Phazotron (another research bureau) http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/Vie ... ubs-05396/ -Admiralty Shipyards http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/mal ... kms-03336/ -Irkuts Aviation Plant (IAPO)/Irkut Corp. -NIIP (reasearch institute Tikhomirov) I know I'm amazing and all, but honestly this isn't that hard. FYI if you don't know what an Su-30 is, then you should probably start by getting wikipedia and finding that list of fighter jets.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fi ... t_fighters Honestly. This is all rather silly. banistansig1
