Here in USA, pet food is a BIG industry.
I was trying to find examples of packaged pet food in Soviet Russia (USSR), but came up with nothing. Where did pet owners go to obtain pet food? Were there certain "brands"? Or was it State-supplied? Thx!
Hi!
There was no pet food industry in the USSR as such. People fed their pets human food (milk, kasha, canned meat, whatever else you can think of that animals can consume). Pet food only came to Russia in the 90s. Hope that helps! "The thing about capitalism is that it sounds awful on paper and is horrendous in practice.
