Yeah, whatever Vladimir. I'm sure you miss your precious revisionist KGB and social-imperialist empire.

For first time I like Putin sooooooooooo much...don't tell me this is not a bit correct?

That's all well and good, but Putin was one of those who gained most. If not economically, then at least in political power.

Although this brings up the "Great Republican Hero" Reagan, as to whether he really was a good man. According to capitalist points of view, the fall of the soviet union was a great victory (of course, who's class interests do you think they serve?), yet this plunged the majority of the population into starvation and chaos and left the most ruthless people in charge to take power and wield it.

yeah. those words make me cringe everytime. I am shocked whenever people say that the USSR was the aggressor in the cold war.

oh yes, almost every right-wing historian, not to mention left-wingers like Bertram D. Wolfe etc. they usually place the Soviet Union in the center of blame. Their reasoning is incredibly weak, and anyone with any sense can see that it's bullshit.

The attitude here towards revisionists isn't always friendly, but one thing for certain about Kruschev's memoirs is that, they clearly show how the Soviet Union tried to ease relations with America. Also Andrei Gromyko's memoirs, they are very telling as well. (He describes how the USSR tried to join NATO because it was a defence organisation and the USSR believed in defence). That is probably one of my favorite parts. (they were of course denied entrance).

Not to mention, that America was almost always ahead in the arm's race, so if that doesn't show which country was more paranoid and hell-bent on war, I don't know what does.

In early 1950s, the U.S.S.R. asked the United States to destroy all their (American and Soviet) nuclear weapons. The U.S. refused. In 1954 the U.S.S.R. asked to join N.A.T.O. -- Oh yes, it did. The answer was immediate: NO WAY. With the entrance of "West" German Federation's in N.A.T.O., the U.S.S.R., Poland, "East" German Democratic Republic, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Albania and Bulgaria formed the so-called "Warsaw Pact" (1955).

According to that, who began the "Cold War"?
According to that, who began the "Arms Races"?

I call you to answer, especially Washington.

It's good to see a comrade who knows his history. So few of the people do anymore.

By Washington, are you referring to our petty-bourgeois poster?

He's actually danish. He just uses Sweden as an example because their one party system is purely social democratic and has been for decades. So for him, it's the pinnacle of utopia.

Anyway....and as far as I see not many appreciate history anymore...

a friend of mine asked me this:

"Why do you want to know what happened in the past? It is of no use, it is over now, gone!"

I agree, a lack of historical knowledge in my opinion, is a lack of general intelligence that a person does need. History is the most important tool in any debate. I do believe that the right-wing media has been slowly (or quickly) dumbing down the average man, so that historical concepts are getting harder and harder to understand. Very sad business.

anyways I must go now Comrade, do' zhvidanye.
