I am working on a Military Novel during World War II and I just wanted to know if and how did women take part in military. Same as men?

I don't think so. During World War I and World War II, the women had to take the roles of the men who had to fight. As far as I know, they mostly had to work in the factories.

Maybe the US Army... but Comrade, you have GOT to research the role of Women in the WWII SOVIET Army. Some of the best Pilots & Snipers - front line fighters - were Women.

Women weren't in the (nonsoviet) military at all until recently.

Women were used extensively as nurses, telephone and radio operators, and as adjutants. However very few armies allowed women to fight on the front lines.

During WW2, didn't the USSR have women in AAA units?

Yes it did, in fact there is a great movie about that called "А Зори Здесь Тихие".
