Did the concepts of tabletop games (both childrens board games, more modern tabletop wargames and tabletop roleplaying games) ever really make it into the USSR?

I know they are fairly popular today at least (lots of tabletop wargaming stuff coming out of russia) but was there any roots to build from, any imports etc?

Cheers!

Wow, I had been looking for that game on and off for a long time. Back in Russia my best friend had it when we were kids. I didn't think it'd be called 'Морской бой' since that's also the name used for the game called Battleship in English, and for the arcade machine. Thanks for helping me find it Pug!
