Hi! I just found this board and am happy to be here.
I am 37 years of age and with every year my desire to reject the inequities of capitalism grows. In my experience within a capitalist framework, success only exists if we create failure in others by winning competitively. I see this example in the actions of many, many people. For every winner, there must be a loser. I despise that dynamic! I am aware that this is an inherent trait of the capitalist system and I work to defeat it.
At work, I am a high performer, I am a facilitator, a team player, and I seek balance among my co-workers. When someone is achieving less than myself I unselfishly sacrifice my own personal gain in order to achieve balance. And when I am achieving less than others, I seek out ways to level the playing field, not for personal gain, but to achieve parity. What really irritates me though is that since I am an asset to my boss(es) why do they do not endeavour to do the same? Well, it is the typical behaviour in such a system that promotes the exploitation of man by man. And yet the boss needs the worker just as much as the worker needs the boss. To me this is a 1:1 relationship, so then why must the greater benefit reside with the boss? Without people on the ground, converting pie-in-the-sky ideas into concrete realities there can be NOTHING! You know, pyramids are sooooo 1000 BC! lol It's amazing that we continue to tolerate such ancient practises.
Anyway, I'm glad that this website exists. Feel free to comment if you like.
thanks,
