Post 18 Jan 2009, 03:42

Not a weapon per se... the An-2

Very efficient and possibly has rooms to be modernized fitted for developing countries.

Going back to page 1:

The Mosin Nagant wasn't a sniper rifle, it was an infantry rifle, the Draganov was a sniper rifle adapted from it. I have a few pics of me firing a Nagant, one of my favorite rifles, kicks like a bastard. Scared the hell out of my wife (even after she fired the .357).. But overall the greatest of all Soviet weapons would be the SS-18

ehhhh - not exactly

Your Mosin, being a bolt action, is actually more of a classic WESTERN sniper than a Dragunov. The idea of the Dragunov was NOT to have a classic hair splitter - it was a support weapon designed to lay down fire further out than an AK, at a moderate pace (less than full auto, but far more than a Mosin). They are STILL very accurate, with the RIGHT 7.62x54 load. Best description of the Dragunov's intended role is (naturally) from Russia

No slam on the Dragunov - I wish I could afford the real thing
Best I have is a PSL (not even CLOSE to a Dragunov in internal operation, despite the dealers in the US calling these Dragunov's)

A Dragunov is a squad marksman rifle. Look at how many were in a platoon. Sergei hit the nail on the head.

One sniper at soviet platoon.

I have no idea about weapons, but Katyusha rocket launchers make me go like "OMG OMG OMG O__________O".
