why does castro wear that adidas shirt?

Adidas is a German company, by the way. You cannot accuse Castro of being inconsistent because Cuba has trade and diplomatic contact with Germany.

And wearing sportswear is bad?

From what I understand it is the uniform of the Cuban Olympic track & field team. They presented it to him.

What is so 90s sportswear ? if so you are wrong people still wear sportswear and I seen movies in the 70's and 80's people that wear sportswear.

But now many of the people are wearing sweatpants and there is more of this now .

I've always thought this in addition: why do the DPRK wear adidas or Fila in sporting events?

It seems very much against the ideology, but then again I suppose where do you draw the line?
Post 11 Jan 2007, 15:58
It's probably better than vinalon, to be fair.

Because he needs the products of capitalism to live the lifestyle he wants. That man doesn't want to live in the same conditions as the people he governs; it's much easier to preach your hate against capitalism than to remove yourself from it.

Adidas is an official sponsor and supplier of the Olympic games/teams. Why should Cuba not accept free sportswear?
Post 12 Jan 2007, 01:59
Clothes don't make you capitalist.....
Post 12 Jan 2007, 02:32
99% of what all of us wear are made by capitalists.. should we all send our clothes back?

Oh, and the bourgeoisie never took anything with them from the feudal society...
Post 12 Jan 2007, 03:28
Oh I don't know. A three-piece suit is definitely capitalist.
Post 12 Jan 2007, 03:36
Not really......Dressing nice is by no means capitalist.
Post 12 Jan 2007, 03:48
But if people wear Che shirts without knowning who he is...?
Post 12 Jan 2007, 04:32
clothes produced under capitalism are nice. However clothes themselves are in no way capitalist
Post 12 Jan 2007, 06:43
Did it occur to anyone that "why does castro wear that adidas shirt" has nothing to do with capitalism? It's funny how people basically created an argument out of this sentence when nothing was directly implied at all.
