The Last Micro-national Dispute

[Our apologies in advance for the length of this article as it has included much evidence which speaks for itself]

Yesterday ended the last inter-micro-national dispute that the People's Republic of the New Soviet Empire will be involved in, resulting in the PRNSE leaving the league of micro-nations to make the final break with the distracting arguments going on there.

The story begins back in May when Comrade Yuri V. Andropov had left the PRNSE to experiment with starting his own micro-nation. During this time he also became a citizen of the Imperial Rasinate of Q'attera-Macusiaa (IRQM). At the end of may Comrade Andropov decided to return to the PRNSE and thus closed his own micro-national experiment and requested for IRQM Prime Minister Charles Beard to remove him from the citizenship list. Charles Beard didn't however remove Comrade Andropov from the Rasinate's "Top Secret" mailing list and thus the PRNSE was shocked to receive the following document detailing the Rasinate's plans to damage a number of micro-nations simply because they did not see eye-to-eye.

Policy changes, I will request that the Yezawd Derg vote on these changes soon. 1. The IRQM will take a more active role in intermicronational affairs after a "hiatus" of about 9 months. We will reach out to as many micronations as possible and establish positive and productive measures that will ensure that the IRQM does not fall into the trap of being viewed as "the Big Bad Boy" of micronationalism, that was once the case. We must work constructively to place a softer, gentler, face on our policies and "be nice" to as many micronations as possible. This is a public relations drive ladies and gentlemen. The IRQM must and will be viewed as what we truely are....the kind protector of the weak and new micronations. 2. The Secret Service will step up it's operations (actually, they are underway in force.) to work to destabilize those that get in our way of accomplishing our goals. Since there are only 5 micronations that are actively working against us and all 5 are viewed as hostile to the vast number of micronations, we are doing the micronational world a favor if we by chance keep them busy with major problems that have no repair. 3. The Defense Ministry will step up it's operations to coordinate defense strategy in cases of crisis and will submit this to the Yezawd Derg within a 3 month time frame. We all must support this and provide input to help Lord Eoin out with this major task. Since many will feel threatened by another resergence in IRQM power that will follow this major change in policy, we can all expect some fall out from those that plot against us. 4. The re-ignition of the BNEp in LOSS, and the LOM. Since I still feel that intermicronational cooperation is key to providing some stability in micronationalism, this is important. We don't need any "wag the dog" type ventures to destabilize us or any of our allies. In all actuality the BNEp will cause some destabilization on our foes, because it brings others closer to the IRQM. But the true nature of this does not need to be leaked out and will be considered as treason if it is. Also, anyone who does, runs the risk of catching major reprocussions in their own micronations because I will personally see to it that the full brunt of the IRQM rests on any of these micronations. I hope you all do not take this as a threat, because it isn't, it is a promise, but I don't care for slip-ups in this department. IRQM plans stay in the IRQM, even if your respective governments may not approve, it is of no consequence to me. 5. Absolute support of our allies in the LOSS, LOM and elsewhere. If our allies like it, then we like it. Any micronation that I list as allies we will give them undying support. In this list, I have included both formal and informal allies: The Alterian Fed, the PBF, Marajo, the Lyrican Rep., the Barony of Treesia, Argaal, Pacifica, the Evil Empire, Temoe, the DCI, the Athenian Republic, Wolfenstein, Alameigh, Archduchy of Scotia, Empire of Gruver and Prussia. Allies that do not fulfill their obligations to us, will be immediately dropped off of the list and we will gradually start to ignore them, then be hostile with them. I am tired of the wishy- washy ways of some of them. This way we can say we gave 100% support and use it against them when we need something in the future. This is called generating political capital. This capital must be cashed in at one point or another. 6. LOSS and LOM must have IRQM dominance or shared dominance with our allies. In the LOM the power blocs are Lyrica, the IRQM, the Archduchy, PBF, Pacifica, and Nuova Etruria on one side and everyone else on the other with smaller blocs emerging, such as Babkha and the PRNSE. In LOSS, the IRQM, Zarahemla, PBF, and the Archduchy forming one bloc. Porto Claro, Marajo form one, but tend to side with us. Reunion forms it's own but plays the middle. Port Colice, the DCI and a few others are forming with them but do not truely form a threat. This info is at least one month old from the Secret Service and will be updated at the end of July, since many micronations in both LOSS and the LOM are waiting to see who comes out as the new prime minister here. My personal spin on this last report from Ras Markle is that many know that he is running again and don't want to run afoul of him, but, some especially are watching to see if King Juan turns out to be as hard line as Markle. My accessment of my neighbor, King Juan is that he has already shown his temperment, oportunistic and willing to take some chances but will regroup if his bet is wrong as evident with his actions in Rulak in Paramount. He has already gained coverage in the Apollo Fireball because of it, but he still remains somewhat a mystery. As you all have noticed, he hasn't been posting lately as we all have, but I have told him not to make any statements until the campaign begins so that he does not make any "newbie" mistakes due to inexperience. On Monday June 25th the Imperial Rasinate then posted articles across the Micro-national press claiming that the Rasinate's "Secret" Government forum had been spied on by the PRNSE in what appeared to be a blatant act of hostility. Especially when considered that exactly one month earlier the Imperial Rasinate had actually invited the PRNSE to their government forums in an e-mail following the report of a broken link to them.

Following the lies published throughout the micro-national press, and the after speaking with the Editor of one such news source on ICQ - during which it was made clear that people were e-mailing the newspaper with false information that the PRNSE was going to start a war - the decision was made that the PRNSE would not play any part in the 'games' that appeared to be being set up by the Rasinate and this President Siberian Fox made the following statement to the League of Micro-nations.

Honourable members of the LoM, I was sent a link by someone from the Rasinate to this article: ---------- Imperial Rasinate News Agency -24 June 2001 This evening at 2322hrs Agents of the Shaagadan Secret Service notified the Rasinate Imperial Government that agents from the PRNSE maintained a presence within the Rasinate Imperial Government forum for the purposes of gathering information. ---------- I have also been given information sent to micro-national news agencies that proclaims the PRNSE is planning some sort of crusade to disrupt the LOM and LOSS (of which we are not even a member). Well, I have had enough of these stupid accusations that are constantly flying around. It is plain to see the Imperial Rasinate of whatever is only interested in causing disruption to somehow make itself appear bigger and stronger. Last week the PRNSE closed down its Commissariat of foreign affairs... this week we leave the League of Micro-nations. You may squabble amongst yourselves as normal but from now on the PRNSE will be having nothing to do with these stupidities or any other micro-nation. As can be seen, the President wasn’t really in the best frame of mind when that was written ;o)

Given the facts presented however, the replies from the IRQM to the delegates of the League of Micro-nations reek of lies, which only serves to confirm that leaving the so-called micro-national "community", was the correct decision.

Maybe they should cover their tracks better. Last night, while posting two of his Secret Service agents were found out and were told to leave our forum. We are also on the PRNSE's list for destabilization along with several other micronations. In addition, there is a certain Corba that is attempting to infiltrate our e-mail list. This has been varified by a trusted source, so many here may do as we have and beef up your security, if you value it. We do not mind the presence of foreigners within it, but from now on, the Rasinate Imperial Government states that anyone that does not request permission to be there, will face serious retalitory action from us. If I want to leave the IRQM forum open for our citizens and friendly micronationalists, then fine. If you are there for the purposes of reading for pleasure, then go to a library. Thank you for transmitting the message to them. To address Pres. Fox's statement, The IRQM is not in the business of starting trouble in any micronation or attempting to be "big and powerful". We are all micronations and don't have much power to affect much of anything. Yet, certain places are private, even if we don't choose to close the door, since it is my door, I do as I will. If we want you to visit us, we'll invite you. Do not be fooled into believing that we are not aware of the many quests to demonize us, or to make us out to be the "BIG, BAD, EVIL RASINATE". The final insult from the Rasinate came from that fact that they had been reading the PRNSE's pass worded private forum all along and knew full well that we were not spying on them. As the Rasinate still had not removed comrade Androov from their mailing list the following information was received.

The fuss is just not worth it, so we have widthdrawn from the League of Micro-nations and will have no more contact with them at all. The general feeling in the PRNSE is that the IRQM has been trying to provoke the PRNSE into starting a war by blackening our name in the way it has done. Thus at the same time rid themselves of one of the few micro-nations that stands up and objects to their policies in the L.O.M.

The PRNSE has no interest in fighting a “war” and hence has not risen to the challenge of a fight as the IRQM might have liked. However, we’re sure they will be happy now that there is one less critic of them in the League of Micro-nations, and we are happy that we no longer have to deal with them.

This article may have upset the Rasinate or their friends and we apologise if this is the case but it was felt necessary that the facts of the matter be published for all to see.

The People's Republic of the New Soviet Empire will not be taking part in any more UN type micro-national organisations and will not have any further official contact with any micro-nation in the future.

The PRNSE thanks HIH Diga Makonnen IV of the Rasinate for the understanding that if we leave the IRQM alone they will leave the PRNSE in peace.

Traitor deported and NKVD officer sacked

At approximately 14:17 Kraznograd time (15:17 GMT) 'comrade' Zhukov, the one-time leader of the [PRNSE] Red Alert 2 clan and attempted leader of the [PRNSE] Counter-strike clan was escorted to the border by NKVD officers and left to fend for himself.

The move has followed weeks of insults being given out by the right-winger to just about anyone who was in earshot. On the 24/05/01 President Siberian Fox issued his "Train to Siberia" letter in which he stated that no more abuse would be tolerated and after which things began to quieten down. However, in recent days complaints again began coming in about the 'comrades' behaviour and after reading a number of posts on the forum President Siberian Fox made his decision.

The following e-mail was sent out to all People's Revolutionary Party members.

Party Comrades, A week or two ago I made a statement that if Comrade Zhukov's behaviour did not improve he would have to face the consequences. Today I checked the forums only to find he had called the good General Secretary a "sonofabitch" and called the good Commissar for Justice a "Pusillanimous leftist" (spelling corrected). Given that we have other PRNSE citizens who are republican supporters who live happily with others in the PRNSE adding to debate constructively, Given that Zhukov has already been given a VERY clear warning about his appalling unconstructive behaviour, Given that I have received still more e-mail complaints about his behaviour, And given that there is currently no defined law for "crimes against the motherland", I am expelling Zhukov from the PRNSE. Whether you agree with this or not (and everyone I have asked has agreed) Zhukov is being expelled as quite frankly, it ceases to be enjoyable reading the forum messages when there is one person spitting verbal abuse at everyone and making people unhappy. 'Comrade' Zhukov, you will now be, Sacked as RA2 clan leader, Sacked as CS squad leader, Banned from the PRNSE forums, Removed from this e-mail list, Your citizenship is terminated. These recent events have added fuel to a move to create a law forbidding "crimes against the Motherland". Moderates in the PRNSE will doubtless watch this closely to do their best to ensure that freedom of speech is maintained, but there is a general consensus that while constructive criticism has it's uses the crossing of the line into blatant abuse is a real problem.

Also today there was the tragic news that over 600 posts and all the national history and culture contained within them were deleted from the Gorkiy Park forum. At the moment this is thought to be a case of moderating gone mad as the forum log file showed that the NKVD officer Spitnik84 who was moderator of the forum deleted the posts. Another possibility is that the act was committed out of spite for the apparent deletion of his thread about the Red Alert 2 computer game when in fact the thread was only moved to the Red Alert 2 forum. If this proves to be the case it would have been a truly tragic misunderstanding. Either way, the NKVD officer in question has lost his job and is no longer moderator.

This event is yet another example of why a formal moderator policy document should be written down and published on the PRNSE website so moderators have a guide as to what exactly they should and shouldn't do. This is something the President is now seriously considering although whether he actually gets around to writing it is another matter.

It's Iron Curtains for all of you!

15:25 Kraznograd time, demolition trucks move in to level the old Commissariat of Foreign affairs building. The rather extreme move to completely demolish the PRNSE's Foreign Affairs building and put an end to the commissariat came after a rapid discussion in the People's Forum where it was argued that the PRNSE gained nothing from the 'silly' antics of 'mutual recognition' and international disputes carried out between micro-nations. As a result the PRNSE will no longer have an official foreign policy or sign treaties with other micro-nations, which in practice are totally worthless as there is no way to enforce them.

Because it was recognised the PRNSE should not completely cut itself off from the rest of the micro-national community a new Commissariat of External Affairs has been created to be headed by Commissar ScorchedCCCP (former English Relations Commissar). This new commissariat has been given the task of co-operating with other left-wing communities to further the ongoing 'CCCP' project. While there was some concern about this creating an 'Iron Curtain' around the PRNSE there was as much enthusiasm for the interest a 'cold war' might create.

A Grand Party Meeting

Last night saw what is likely to be the last full meeting of the Bristol/Kraznograd branch of the People’s Revolutionary Party for some months. Following the food and beer comrade TUC had to leave us to go home to Germany for the summer, while it is uncertain which part of the United Kingdom jT’s KGB will relocate its operations to.

The meeting took place at KGB headquarters and the good party members enjoyed (mostly) the barbequed food. Later in the evening proceeding were interrupted by rain showers and some quick thinking saved the barbeque with an upturned baking tray. No one really wanted to go out in the rain to retrieve the rapidly cooking kebabs, so when Commissar A_Monk selflessly volunteered they were already well done to say the least.

The Commissariat of internal affairs also documented some of the proceedings with a digital camera and the pictures should hopefully be published in the coming weeks. As the evening progressed things went increasingly ‘off topic’ whereby entertainment was provided by watching jT and TUC’s housemate (Natalie) struggling to put together a wrench and latter trying to figure out how to operate a Parker Pencil, finally culminating in watching TUC blow up a can of oven cleaner on the smouldering barbeque.

The continuous flow of good humour made for a pleasant final meeting and if all goes well we will once again be all together at the start of the next academic year!

Racism and Immigrants and EZboards, oh my!

Busy, busy days in our country. A new citizen named ing.CCCP arrived today, hailing from the faraway Czech capital. He was welcomed at the station by Chairman Yuri and various other members of government, and will be looking into a government post.

A few vague and confused rumours from a faraway country named "Rozcentia" have sprung up all over town, heavens know where they came from. They quickly became more and more outrageous, until there was talk of the inhabitants beating back an invading force by using various foodstuffs. At this, most most hearers shook their heads in disbelief. Still, I'm reserving judgement. Stranger things have been known to happen.

Politically speaking, the President proposed an Act making racism punishable by law. The form hasn't been determined quite yet, but it won't be long.

Tension in the Duma has been increasing due to widely differring viewpoints on matters. Problems quickly came to a head with different factions becoming ever more agressive. Just as matters reached their peak, the government boards suffered from a glitch and all communication that had taken place became garbled. Even while this situation persisted, our Comrade President took matters in his hands and posted a new rule on forum moderation while EZboard was still hanging in the ropes, ensuring civil conversations on state property and hopefully allowing the Duma to calm down.

Various tabloids said the President's hair had either become white or has completely fallen out, but he hasn't made a public appearance yet, so it's hard to tell. Don't pay any attention to the reactionist propaganda of him nearing a nervous breakdown. It's not true. Really.
