Corrections to tanks pagesMany thanks to "Chuck" who e-mailed me to clear up the mystery of the mats in this photograph of a T-34 tank and also to point out that this tank is a T-62, not a T-55. All corrections have now been made

New Forum Ranks PageA complete list of all the ranks attainable on the discussion forums is now available in the library.
These images will probably be improved over time to make them better and better as A_Monk has offered to give me a hand with the animated gifs.

When the Smiley Strikes...While I was thinking about the forum ranks I decided to give them a quick update to jazz them up a bit. So, now every rank has an associated smiley icon to go with it.

Forum LevelsHey, hey, I've added a new rank to the forum levels. When one reaches 500 posts they are now a master sergeant.

Longest Thread Bet ResolvedIt turns out that comrade A_Monk accepted defeat in the race to the 1000th post in the "Longest thread ever" and after first threatening to post Soviet Behemoth some anthrax he settled for sending the £30 he owed. The good comrade Soviet Behemoth would have none of it however, and in a comradely spirit said that A_Monk could keep his money. Always with an opportunistic eye TUC said "as Monk will keep the 30 quid......spots more beer for himself....COOL!".
So, more beer for TUC (he hopes) and currently only 979 posts until we reach 2000. Long live the longest thread ever! Long live the Rodina!

Longest Thread Ever!Perhaps it's not the longest discussion forum thread in the history of the net, but on our own forums the cunningly titled "Longest Thread Ever" has finally reached one thousand posts. Comrade "Soviet Behemoth" waited until only about 10 posts from the coveted number 1000 before sprinting to the finish line, no doubt praying that comrade "A_Monk" wouldn't suddenly turn up on the forum and pip him to it.
The reason this holds any significance is not just that it is the first thread on our forum to become 1000 posts long, but that A_Monk and Soviet Behemoth had bet £30 that they would get the 1000th post. Everyone predicted that A_Monk would delete Behemoth's post and replace it with his own if he lost but the fact that 10 people were online on the forums to witness Behemoths triumph later in the afternoon makes it somewhat difficult.
We'll be watching with curiosity to see what happens next. In the meantime Comrade Ari Rahikkala proclaimed he was going to sacrifice 1000 oxen in honour of the occasion, no doubt to the annoyance of any animal rights campaigners.
